Ten years of memories

Memories were shared and there were laughs aplenty as Te Tipu Whenua o Pa Harakeke students and teachers, past and present, celebrated 10 years of success on November 14. The teen parent unit has been helping teen parents complete their high school education since 2024, with 152 young mostly mums taking up the opportunity.

Te Tipu Whenua o Pa Harakeke head Melanie Fowler said it was very special to catch up with so many of those who had been able to finish their schooling through the unit, celebrate the decade, and look forward to the future.

"We are very proud of everyone;  especially our students who have worked so very hard. School is demanding at any time and with children there are so many more challenges. They deserve every success.”
