Ron Giorgi parks update

Council staff have confirmed that a proposal for renaming two of the three Ron Giorgi parks, provided to it by the Flaxmere Planning Committee on behalf of the community, has been reviewed. The next step will be for Hastings District Council to run a follow-up public consultation as owner of the park, before it goes to full Council for a decision. It is hoped the next steps may enable it to be included in one of the three remaining Council meetings of the year, or early next year. Council advises that its consultation calendar and meetings agendas since it received the proposal in March have been very full (related to cyclone recovery and the Long-Term Plan) so regrettably the presentation of this paper has been delayed. It will be attended to as soon as possible.
